My art class has gotten a lot more interesting. We have moved away from the religious stuff and moved onto ancient rock art. It is very interesting stuff. I no longer want to skip this class.
Tomorrow we reach Mauritius, and I am super excited. I am going to a wildlife foundation, and I believe going on a safari through it. It will be a nice break from classes. I do wish we were there for a few more days.
On the research front, I finally got the microscope software on my computer. Now I can start looking at the samples we have collected. Mind you we now have about eight or nine samples that I have to make my way through. The samples are slightly larger than a urinary testing cup, and I have to examine them using petri dishes. I think you can imagine how long that is actually going to take me. Especially if I am examining them while at sea. If I make my bubbles too large, the water will shake with the vibrations and sway of the ship. This means that I can either create large bubbles while in port, or really small bubbles while at sea. When I say really small bubbles, I am talking about bubbles that are smaller than a pea.
On another note, my friends and I have taken better attention to the paintings around the ship. Some of them are really creepy. I will take photos to show you later. There is this one that a guy is just staring at a naked woman. Another one has a guy watching a woman sleep. They are just weird. I would really like to know if they were posed, if they were just something that the artist painted from his/her mind. And if that’s the case, that person was probably really creepy too.
Happily, I have definitely tanned. I’m not sure how much, because I don’t actually know I tan I was before. Also, I keep switching between different styles of tank tops, so I don’t exacting have a consistent tan line that has been present the entire time. Don’t worry, I am using sunscreen. No skin cancer for me!
I am also about to finish my sixth book while on the ship. I read two by the time I reached Japan. Then one from Japan to China. Then two more by the time I got to India. Now I am on my sixth book and I expect to finish it tonight. I haven’t read this much this fast since I did that competition in third grade where I had to read ten books in ten weeks to earn a medal.
Days until I come home: 40
