The swells have gotten worse. It has once again become a struggle to walk around the ship. It is not as bad as it was on our way to Japan, though. The good thing is, I don’t spend much of my time walking about right now. The leg from India to South Africa is where almost all of my assignments are due. So, instead of gallivanting around the ship, I am usually seated, busting our essays left and right.

In other news, tomorrow is my one friend’s birthday. I bought her an ice cream cake that we are going to eat tonight at dinner. We would do it tomorrow, but seeing as tomorrow is Sea Olympics, we weren’t sure if everyone would be able to make it to the dinner. Oh, by the way, it is a secret, so don’t tell her :).

As I just mentioned, tomorrow is Sea Olympics. Being swamped in so much work, I am not partaking in any of the events, but I will take some time out of my studies to go watch my friends.

Something exciting to think about. The time that we are going to be in South Africa is going to be a special time of the year. We will be visiting during the shift into their winter season. This shift between seasons means that we may be able to see certain species leaving to ecosystems for warmer waters, and others coming into the ecosystems. We get the best of both ecosystems! Dolphins, whales, some shark species will be making their way to the Aliwal Shoal. I say some shark species, because there are other species that are there during the summer season. My goal is to see something breach out of the water. I don’t care if it a shark, whale, or dolphin, I just want to see something burst out of the water.
