Dolphins!!!

Today we spent the day out at sea. We deployed a Mooring Current Meter in the channel and then proceeded to these COBY stations to take data. One way of collecting data is with a Weatherpak. The other way we measured data was with a CTD (stands for Conductivity, Temperature, Depth, although it measures much more than that. We finished at the first station and were on our way to the second station when Captain Tom slowed down then boat. Our College Coordinator went to speak with him, and came back saying Captain Tom say dolphins port-side! So, naturally we are all looking trying to find them. AND WE DID. They were rolling through the waves about 50ft away from us. Unfortunately, we had to turn back because some members of the party got really sea sick. But no worries because we will be going out next Wednesday to retrieve the Mooring Current Meter. And I will also be on boat trips for my other classes. Still plenty of time to sea the wildlife. I just wish I trusted myself with my good camera while on a boat.
